Information about the sources of our designs:

  NatureBrella™ LLC produces umbrellas designed on nature- or science-inspired themes. Our first two products are umbrellas featuring circum-polar seafloor maps. The Arctic Ocean umbrella is based upon the International Bathymetric Chart of the Arctic Ocean; the Antarctica umbrella is based upon an ETOP02 map provided by NOAA/NGDC.

The Arctic Ocean

design was adapted from the International Bathymetric Chart of the Arctic Ocean (IBCAO), a project involving scientists from institutions in eleven countries, who have collaborated to produce the most definitive map of Arctic Ocean Bathymetry.

The Antarctic Ocean

design was adapted from a South-Pole-Centric orthogonal projection of the Southern Hemisphere obtained from NOAA/NGDC.
The bathymetry portrayed is Smith & Sandwell's predicted bathymetry from satellite altimetry, terrestrial areas are overlain with satellite mosaic images.
